Knitted Knockers also have a fantastic FAQ located here. If you have any questions that are not answered by Knitted Knockers, or on this page, then please don't hesitate to contact us.

*If you are not in the UK please visit the Knitter Registry to find the knitters closest to you

All of our knockers are beautifully crafted with love and care, to fit you, and provided to you free of charge*

*however, we always welcome donations if you would like to support our cause

Day 2 Day Knockers

Our Day2Day knockers are here to provide you with the confidence to feel like you again.

They are made from 100% cotton to give them a soft, luxurious feel against sensitive skin.

As each lady will have had a different experience during their journey to date, and no person is ever the same, they are made just for you.

As such, each set are unique and will adjust to fit you as you would like them to.

They are filled with a hypoallergenic stuffing and, with your help, will contour to your body perfectly. Allowing you to confidently move on with your life again.

Aqua Knockers

When you are ready to brave the water, or work in a hot/messy environment....

These specific knockers are designed to be worn in water.

They are made from a soft acrylic yarn, which copes with being wet better than wool or cotton. They are stuffed with a netting to prevent them becoming waterlogged, making them easier to swim in and dry after use.

Specifications

We make our knockers by request. Therefore, to ensure they match your expectations as closely as possible, there are some specifications to consider.

See below for some options. If there are additional considerations you would like to include in your request, there is a space for you to do so on our request form.

Size

We are able to create your knocker(s) in any cup size. The cup is equal to the over-bust measurement minus the under-bust measurement, the chart above will give the cup letter

Colour

We can use any colour to craft your knocker.

If you are looking for natural colours please see the chart above and tell us which shade best matches your skin tone.

If you would like 'funky' colours then please let us know what colour palette(s) to use, the world is your oyster.

Please note that we primarily rely on daonated materials, therefore we cannot guarantee exact colour matches. But we will do our best

What's in the package?

We will provide the following items in the knocker package as standard:

  • The knockers you requested - these will match as closely as possible to your requested specifications. They will also be "over-stuffed" and open at the back so that you can mould them to fit your new shape comfortably
  • Wash / care instructions - so you know the recommended care for your new knocker
  • Washbag - if you decide to wash your knocker in the machine, the washbag will protect the material from other items
  • Tips and information - we provide our informative document, lovingly titled the 'blurb', which will provide some further information and tips for wearing your knocker
  • Poster and leaflet - so you can spread the word if you choose to, this will help us to reach more people so we can help them feel a little more themselves

Any Extras?

We provide the following extras upon request:

  • Weights - since our alternative prosthetics are much lighter than the standard prosphetics provided by your care provider, they can sometimes 'travel'. We can provide some weights that you can put inside your knocker to help hold them in place
  • Transpore tape - this tape can be used to stick the knocker in place
  • Anything else? - if you feel there is something else that we have not thought of that would assist with your knocker journey, please do ask and we will do what we can to accommodate (and also improve our service so others can benefit from your suggestions)

Other Support Items

We appreciate that everyone will be at a different stage of their journey, there is no right or wrong time for us to help you.

For this reason, we also have other items that can be provided upon request. You may add this to the knocker request form below, or contact us at info@oakleystitchers.org.uk to request these items separately

Chemo Hats

Like the knockers these are made with 100% cotton yarn to ensure that they are as soft and comfortable as possible on your head, especially if hair is reducing or your head is particularly sensitive.

Pressure Relief Pillows

We have set out to create a multipurpose item to help with the challenges of post surgeries such as heart, mastectomy or any other procedure where it may prove useful. These are made from donated materials, therefore we cannot guarantee colour / pattern.

Often post-surgery, it is helpful to have protection of some kind:

  • to alleviate pressure on the wound while it heals,
  • to provide a relief from additional pressures (eg seatbelts),
  • as a support / aid memoir, while remobilising and rehabilitating.

We have tried to create a dual-purpose item that can be future proof and not only provide protection during recovery but also a useful support for a phone, book or tablet while in hospital, healing, and beyond.

Drain Bags for surgical wards and individuals

On occasion, post surgery, a drain is inserted to remove any build up of fluids. Our drain bags provide a little discretion and a comfortable way to support the drain bag itself while its in place. We try to make them as beautiful and fashionable as possible from donated materials, we cannot guarantee colour / pattern. For more information, please see our Drain Bag page.

Zip2PICC Hoodies

We now provide hoodies altered for use during PICC-line treatments such as chemotherapy and dialysis. These require a separate request, please see our Zip2PICC page for further details.

If you are requesting for someone else, you are amazing!!!
