New community activities for 2026!
Teddy Hospital
Do you have a poorly teddy? or could your teddy need a check up?
If so come and visit our teddy hospital.
Collect your notes from our triage desk before visiting our MRI, CT scanners, X-ray machine or sight and hearing departments. should your teddy need more intensive treatment our surgical team can get things back to normal again.
This is a fully interactive activity for children and adults alike. With the aim to provide an informative and educational experience to support children with their medical understanding and confidence when visiting hospital departments for themselves or others.
Oakley Stitchers have been supporting hospitals, organisations and children for over 6 years now starting off with scrubs and Masks including Teddy masks to help with the normalisation of mask wearing during covid. By providing 1000's to waiting rooms all around the UK we helped reduce the fear and trauma with attending appointments when unable to see faces.
Our Teddy hospital builds on this and has been praised by professionals and visitors for its innovative and positive experience for children and people with learning disabilities who may be visiting hospital, to feel more comfortable, reducing anxiety and distress. In turn helping medical staff with their treatment. It has also proved to be a soothing and cathartic experience for children who are regular visitors to hospital by enabling them to support their teddy through the experiences we offer. This in turn empowers them to continue with their own medical treatments confidently, with understanding.
Mr McGregory's garden
How does your garden grow?
This is a space for relaxation with a natural feel with birds, stepping stones to hop on and a variety of birds and other animals to meet.
We would like to invite you to join us at Mr Mcgregory's potting table?
Mr Mcgregory is a very grumpy gardener who loves his vegetable and flower gardens.
Creating paper vegetables children have a challenge to sneak their creations into and out of his wheelbarrow, without him spotting them... they can do this as many times as they think they can get away with!
Look in our garden pond to see the life cycle of fish and frogs
Learn how to make a biodegradable plant pot and find out how to plant and look after a seasonal plant, until it grows.
This activity helps support learning of where vegetables come from, plants and how they are grown and the animals and processes within the garden that make a garden biodegradable and eco friendly environment.

These events are always a lot of fun and we meet so many fantastic people, some who know of us, some that had no idea we existed and some that are often overwhelmed that we may be able to help them directly with some of the items we create.
The events, fayres, stalls or any other community outreach we will be attending are above. Links are included where available for further information.
